FUENTE: JetBlue Enhances and Expands Mexico City Service with New, Customer-Friendly Schedules and Added FlightsNEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (NASDAQ:JBLU) today announced new and improved flight schedules for service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and the Mexican capital, which will better accommodate the airline’s customers. Additionally, JetBlue will increase service to four daily roundtrips between Mexico City and the U.S. – two on the Fort Lauderdale route and two on the Orlando route. Seats are on sale now and JetBlue is celebrating with a special introductory fare of just $99 one-way (a).
“Our ability to now offer Mexico City service twice daily with improved flight times between these two growing Florida focus cities positions JetBlue for even greater success in one of the most important major markets in the Americas,” said John Checketts, vice president network planning, JetBlue. “It’s a win for customers on each end of these routes.”
JetBlue first landed in Mexico City in 2015 with one daily roundtrip flight from each of its Florida focus cities. While the airline has quickly become a favorite among Mexico City travelers who love JetBlue’s award-winning service and low fares, the original flight times could not accommodate all customers’ schedule needs and did not align well with a portion of connecting traffic.
However, earlier this year, JetBlue was awarded new flight times and the authority to operate additional service by the U.S. Department of Transportation when the agency required other airlines to divest slots at MEX in order to enhance competition in Mexico City.
The enhancements in Mexico City service help JetBlue grow in several key areas. In Fort Lauderdale, where JetBlue is the top airline serving more than 60 nonstop destinations, it advances growth plans to reach 140 daily flights in the coming years. In Orlando, the expanded service grows JetBlue’s other Florida focus city where it operates up to 70 daily flights to nearly 30 destinations. Lastly, JetBlue’s growth in the broader Latin America and Caribbean network continues to make up nearly a third of the airline’s flying capacity. JetBlue will operate up to 315 daily flights in the region this year.
Flights between the U.S. and Mexico City will be operated on the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft offering the airline's award-winning service featuring the most legroom in coach (b); free Fly-Fi, the fastest broadband internet in the sky (c); complimentary and unlimited name-brand snacks and soft drinks; free, live DIRECTV® programming,100+ channels of SiriusXM® radio at every seat and free first-run Hollywood movies.

FUENTE: JetBlue Grows International Presence with Expanded Service in Havana and Mexico CityNEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) today announced it is expanding its presence in Havana and Mexico City with three new routes and more flights from the airline’s northeast and south Florida focus cities (a).

JetBlue also announced plans to introduce two new daily nonstop flights to Mexico City with service from Boston and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) beginning October 25, 2018. The new routes, subject to government approval, will add to JetBlue’s existing service to Mexico City from Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale. With this new service, JetBlue will offer six daily flights between the U.S. and Mexico’s capital city.
“This new service from our two largest focus cities will make it easier for our customers in New York and Boston to discover Mexico City with their favorite airline,” said St. George.
JetBlue’s new service to Mexico City follows a decision by the U.S. Department of Transportation to require certain airlines to divest airport slots in order to enhance competition at Mexico City International Airport.
“We thank the DOT for requiring slot divesture at Mexico City so as to foster more choices for the traveling public,” said James Hnat, executive vice president and general counsel, JetBlue. “More than ever, it is crucially important that federal regulators continue to address competition concerns at slot-restricted airports and take steps to assist carriers like JetBlue with securing meaningful access to restricted markets.”
All new service to Cuba and Mexico will be operated on JetBlue’s Airbus A320 aircraft featuring the airline’s award-winning service with comfortable seating; complimentary and unlimited name-brand snacks; more than 100 channels of free SIRIUSXM® radio programming and 36 channels of free, live DIRECTV® programming on personal seatback televisions; free Fly-Fi high-speed wireless Internet (b), and the most legroom in coach. (c)
(a) Subject to government operating authority.
(b) Fly-Fi is not available on flights operating outside of the contiguous U.S. For flights originating outside of the contiguous U.S., Fly-Fi will be available once the aircraft returns to the coverage area. Fly-Fi is available on all JetBlue-operated flights.
(c) JetBlue offers the most legroom in coach based on average fleet-wide seat pitch for U.S. airlines.
FUENTE: JetBlue Expands International Service in Northeast Focus Cities with Seats to Mexico City Now on SaleNEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) today announced that its new and expanded Mexico City service, with daily nonstop flights between the Mexican capital and both New York City and Boston, is now out for sale. Service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Mexico City International Airport (MEX), as well as service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Mexico City International Airport begins October 25, 2018. JetBlue is offering fares starting at $150 one way from New York (a) and $153 one way from Boston (a).
