Comments

  • Emirates interviews/recruiting is a complete farse. Any info should be approached with high level of suspicion. Serious level of fraud relating to housing and terms of contract.
  • Training Captain and New Hire sacked for improper missed approach at Manchester, Uk in 2009. Currently understaffed, fatigued, and demoralized Pilot Group. First Officer pay will barely cover family living expenses in Dubai. Many years to upgrade. As one Pilot said "I wouldn't recommend Emirates to a friend or even an enemy." (02/28/10)
  • if they really provide you with housing, and you have to pay for utilities, with 6000 dollars a month, i am able to survive anywhere (06/19/10)
  • Try to find a US or Europe carrier. You won't regret it. AJ (07/13/10)
  • Upgrade policy is based on 4,000 hours time on aircraft greater than 55 tonness MTOW (121,000 lbs). Additionally need 3,000 hours on Emirates Type(s) of which 1,000 hours are actual seat time on the ugrade aircraft. Fleet transfer is not based on seniority nor is upgrade. Currently Boeing pilots upgrade 4 years, Airbus between 5 and 6 years or longer with 330/340 phase out. (01/27/11)
  • Direct hire A380 F/O's now being hired. Current A330/340 F/O's not allowed to move to 380 until having logged 3,000 hours time in a/c greater than 55 tons/121,000 lbs. A380 rosters average 14 days off per month and great layover flying. A330/340 rosters 8-9 with few layovers and multiple night turn around flights. Very fatiguing with no end in sight. (02/14/11)
